You know those times when you feel like your thoughts are running laps around brain and you can't even focus on one single idea?? Well trust me when I say that you aren't the only one who has this happen. It's easy to get caught up in a million different things in life, but I believe there is one thing that might allow your mind to relax and calm the heck down once in awhile.
Something that we take for granite a lot is the fact that if we want to be able to just have time for ourselves, we can do that in the most simple way. Throw on a pair of shoes and take a step outside of your house, dorm room, apartment. Once outside, continue to keep walking and if you want....don't stop. Getting outside with fresh air hitting your face is such a great feeling. Being able to just put on your favorite Quinn XCII song (or any song that really gets you boppin as I would say) and just walk and allow yourself to think about anything that you want is one of the greatest blessings you can have in such a simple way.
Allow yourself to just think. Just think about that super dope sandwich you had earlier that day. Think about the Netflix show you are going to indulge in later that day. Reflecting on things that have happened or are going to happen is so healthy and important. It gives us a sense of happiness and just reminds us that good things, whether they be small or little, are happening in our lives even if we don't notice them. One thing that I have been doing with my roommate this year is, "What Were You Thankful/ Grateful For Today?" at the end of each night. What a good way to just remember that there really is so much to be thankful for in your life.
Don't forget that having time for yourself to just be alone is super beneficial. Clearing your head from those millions of thoughts and just being with you and only you is so good.
