Whether I'm at the beach with my toes in the sand, hiking in hot 90-degree weather, or even just relaxing at home reading a good book, I love summertime!

Hands down, summer is my favorite season! For me, it is a time to work and de-stress from the last semester's heavy workload. This summer, I got a new job at a timeshare resort in my hometown. The people I get to work with, as well as our clients that come in on a regular basis, are so friendly! Since I am an outgoing person, working as a front desk agent has been fun and easy for me. Getting up at 6 am is not necessarily my cup of tea, but I do enjoy having my afternoons free to hang out with my friends and family!

On my days off, I like to go to the beach and go hiking. Yorktown Beach is one of my favorite small local beaches near where I live. I love to sunbathe and eat watermelon while listening to my favorite tunes on the beach. The beach always relaxes me and gives me time to just get away from everything!

When it comes to a good hike, I love to walk trails that have waterfalls in the scenery. Last year as I was walking up a mountain trail, I walked across a waterfall and almost slipped on the rocks; one of the most terrifying moments I have ever had in my life. I am definitely a lot more careful when it comes to climbing on top of the waterfalls.

While being at home for the summer, I find reading books a great leisure activity. It helps me keep my mind going and is a great way to spend my time. I love non-fiction, so I tend to read books about recent news stories.

Summer is not only about working and doing leisure activities but about just being yourself and enjoying every moment you can in the nice warm weather. It is also about spending time with friends and family and relaxing from the previous semester.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
