5 Super Simple Things To Do To Enjoy This Summer

Tired of sitting at home all summer? Watching the summer breeze whisk past your window, taking every second before heading back to school with it? As the countdown to summer begins, here are some of the best ideas to make your summer the boppin'-est is can possibly be!

1. Go to a concert!

Living in the Atlanta area I never have to complain about not having a good concert around me, and festivals are a staple piece of the summer. The Shaky Knees festival kicks off the summer and Music Midtown closes it out around September. These festivals are amazing ways to see a bunch of artist at once for a fraction of a regular ticket. So head on over to Ticketmaster or your favorite band's website to see what's coming near you.

2. Try your hand at DIY or pick up a new hobby!

I learned to crochet two summers ago and absolutely adore it. I've made crayon art for my apartment and just little DIY stuff I've found from all over Pinterest. Most of what I've made has cost less than 20 dollars and I've had hours of fun with.

3. Take a hike!

Head out to your favorite forest, climb up to the top of the mountain and make sure you take pictures of you and your sweaty friends on the way to the top. All trails can help you find trails near you and give you the difficulty level for the hike!

4. Explore a new state or city!

Get in the car and just drive a couple hours with your best friend in any direction. Stop whenever you need gas or see a cool restaurant you've never heard of before. You may find a new special hang out spot or a new favorite food!

5. Finish a book!

You know that one that's been sitting on your nightstand for months that you keep promising yourself you'll read? That one. Pick it up, go find somewhere comfortable outside, curl up and read every last page while the summer breeze blows by.

Whether it's inside, outside, at home or a far ways away, don't let this summer be another boring waste! You're free! Take advantage of it! Go to seek your great perhaps and live your greatet adventure.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
