The perfect way to sum up summer for college students is getting back into shape and saving up as much money as you can.

This past week I decided to do a smoothie cleanse and it was honestly the best decision I've made. It's so easy to just eat junk food all of the time when you're at school because it's just easy, and I wasn't even aware of how bad it was starting to make me feel. So I found a smoothie cleanse on Pinterest and decided to run with it, and the results were amazing. To start off, I wanted to go in with the mindset that it wasn't about seeing physical changes it was more about how I felt.

Breakfast

This was the easiest smoothie meal for me because I'm not really that hungry in the mornings. I wanted my smoothies to be light and fruity. This is how I suggest making your morning smoothies:

- Almond milk

-strawberry, raspberry, or blueberry

-banana

-almond butter

- flax seed

-spinach

of course you can alter the ingredients and make it fit to your liking but I think that these are perfect for a meal that wouldn't be too heavy in the mornings!

Lunch

This is when I started to get the most hungry - it was hard making it after this smoothie from the lunch to dinner stretch. I think the most important part of the lunch smoothie is packing it with greens. Mine turned out to be a little bit more like a juice rather than a smoothie, but it was still great!

I used,

-1/2 cup almond milk

-4 celery stalks

-1 cucumber

-1 cup of kale

-1/2 green apple

-1/2 lime

-1 cup pineapple

I didn't really want to mess with the ingredients because I thought it could easily become a really gross smoothie, and it ended up tasting really great!

Dinner

For dinner I ultimately decided that I was a little too hungry to be skipping this meal, but I still stayed with a paleo dinner. I didn't necessarily feel like I was cheating because it was still a very healthy meal that made me feel great. It is always important to listen to what your body is telling you, and if you're are starving then you should just eat. For dinner I just usually eat a meat and a vegetable, it is really light but you are still getting the nutrients you need. My diet tends to be very heavy on the starches, so this is what I wanted to focus on cutting out of my eating habits.

I still want to include the third smoothie for any souls more brave than mine, so if you try it please let me know how it goes!

-1 1/2 cup coconut water

-1/2 cup mango
-1 cup blueberries

-1 cup kale

-1/4 avocado

-1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

-1 tablespoon lemon juice

- 1 tablespoon flaxseed

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
