When your family first plans a vacation, everyone is extremely excited. You're going to somewhere new and get to spend time with your family. However, most family vacations don't go quite as planned. Your family vacations usually end up like the Griswold's trip across America to Walley World. Although your father may not hold a security guard hostage on a roller coaster, these 10 things have probably happened on your vacation:
1. Fighting over where to eat.
No one can ever agree on the same place to eat. As a "kid," I have no say where we eat but still get to listen to the arguments!
2. Family pictures
Everyone has seen the typical white shirt and khaki shorts beach family portrait. While my family doesn't coordinate outfits, we do take A LOT of pictures.
3. Long car rides
Every hour the minivan seems to shrink. Why didn't we fly?
4. More arguments
We argue because we care!
5. Sunburns
Yes, Mother, I realize this is the first day, and I'm burnt. Yes, Mother, I realize I should have reapplied the sunscreen. Yes, Mother, I am aware that sunburns can cause skin cancer.
6. Matching t-shirts
Thankfully my family doesn't do this, but we do laugh at the families who do wear them.
7. "Do you always have to be on that device?"
No.
8. "I bet you can't make it through dinner without that device."
Watch me. Contrary to popular opinion, I can function without any of my "devices."
