9 Reasons Why Having Big Feet Sucks, But At Least I Save Money

I've had huge feet all my life and have been told all of my life "girl, you got big feet." I am finally at the point where I can embrace my Bigfoot life, even with all the challenges it brings.

1. Almost every store has just a few options in my size of anything.

Any time I'm looking for a pair of new shoes, I go straight to my size and am usually disappointed by the amount of granny shoes leftover and the lack thereof of anything else. It's such a shame.

2. Some stores don’t even have my size.

Sometimes I really like a certain pair of shoes, and they don't have any left in my size or never even ordered them in my size.

3. If they do, it’s a struggle to find anything I even like.

I feel like the level of cuteness when it comes to shoes goes by shoe size. The larger the shoe gets, the less appealing to the eyes.

4. I can’t borrow shoes for formal events because none of my friends wear the same size as me.

If I don't have anything to wear to a formal event, I almost always have a super hard time finding anything and usually end up slumming some of my old pumps that don't even really match. I can't just call a girl up and ask to borrow any. Not that I go to many formal events, but a girl would like to have options.

5. I can’t lend out shoes for anything because, again, none of my friends wear the same size as me.

Being in a huge Greek life school, a lot of my friends are in sororities and are constantly going out to date parties and asking me to borrow shoes, and I literally can't help them out ever.

6. Sitting in the back seat of small cars is hard because sometimes my feet get stuck.

I hate sitting in back seats because I literally have to dig my feet out from under the seats in front of me to get out of the car and sometimes trip on the way out.

7. In college classrooms, I always hope to get a front row seat because legroom is a must.

It honestly breaks my heart every time I get to class late and have no other option but to sit on some row that isn't the front row. Between my bag and my feet, I just get so cramped.

8. My feet are always getting stepped on when I go to concerts.

I never wear sandals to concerts anymore because my feet get stepped on so much. Like really?

9. I hate getting pedicures because I feel like they’re judging my feet.

I know they probably don't care, but I always feel like everyone who does my pedicures is just repulsed at how huge my feet are, so I hardly ever get them.

10. I will say though that I save a lot of money not buying shoes.

While all of you with cute, little feet have an endless assortment of shoe temptation, me being limited might actually be a good thing because I never have to talk myself out of buying the really cute Steve Maddens or whatever they are.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
