1. The student who decided to ride his bike to class.

He had a presentation to give. And the weather was not gonna stop him. Even though when he arrived soaked from head to toe in his shorts his peers were in business professional. E for Effort?

2. The student who stayed in bed and watched Netflix all day.

Classes were not canceled by the university but this student decided classes were canceled for him anyways. Everyone knows the best lazy days are when the weather is gray.

3. The student who used an Ofo as a boat.

Any boat is better than no boat, right?? A student was seen riding the infamous yellow bike through the rapids of campus.

4. The student who forgot to wear rain boots.

There is always someone who does not check the weather. This was the WRONG day to do so my friend. Her new Adidas sneakers became the victim of this flood.

5. The student who swam to class.

No worries, he was on the swim team in high school! He lifeguarded during the summer too, so maybe he’ll rescue someone on the way to class.

6. The student who drove down a flooded road in a small car.

I am going to assume he/she is a freshman who did not know any better. I hope their parents are understanding of that when they tell them their car almost got washed away in the road.

7. The student who forgot to lock up their bike and ended up in a tree.

No one is gonna steal my bike if it’s raining! Yeah, they might not, but that does not mean that the flood rapids are not gonna pick it up and decide to take it with them.

8. The student who reports the weather day on his Snapchat.

I wonder if his major is meteorology or if he is just documenting these struggles to show the Texas A&M engineers that they failed to do their job properly.

9. The student who didn’t complain when the psych building flooded.

Class still was not canceled by the university, but they had to let us go when there was water covering the floor of our classroom. Mhm.

10. The student who had a test and had to build an arc to get to it.

This kid said a prayer that Sully was actually Noah reincarnated in hopes that he would build an ark to help get him to his test.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
