List of the top ten reasons that thinking too much is the worst

1. Sleep is a privilege, not a right.

Just when you think you are freed of the continuous flow of thoughts running through your head, another thought arises. The idea won’t stop pestering you until you finish thinking it through or do something about it. So yeah, if you get the feeling that you need to do something, you can forget about sleeping for another hour or so.

2. Your mind won’t rest until you’ve worn it out.

Your life may seem a little crazy to some people, but if you don’t keep yourself busy, you let those thoughts run wild. Filling your days with plans is a necessity because otherwise you’re a loose cannon of thoughts that won’t allow rest until you do something about them or think them all the way through.

3. You’ve thought of every worst case scenario.

Yeah, you wish you weren’t the one who thought about what you would say in a life or death situation, but of course you have. You are the friend who brings up the exact thing no one wants to hear when walking through a dark alley. “Hey guys, what if there was a murderer waiting for us?” And of course, they all tell you to shut up but you couldn’t help yourself.

4. You have an opinion about everything.

Most people feel one way or another about some subjects, but you’ve pretty much chosen a stance on every one imaginable. It’s less than ideal because since you’ve thought every side of the stance through, you tend to play devil’s advocate. While some people appreciate having a broadened perspective, most people hate it.

5. You are extremely random.

Yeah, you are the person who brings up the most random idea thinkable in a conversation. You and your friends are talking about cats and you bring up canned food. No one can explain it, and neither can you. Your mind just takes you places.

6. You get bored easily.

Probably the biggest reason you think so much is because you need something to occupy your mind. Thinking about or doing the same thing over and over is a waste of time for you because there are so many other new and interesting things to be done. You always need something new to challenge your mind.

7. You always ask questions.

You can never take something for what it is. You have to know the why, how, and where before you can ever understand the what. You are the one who annoys everyone in class because you raise your hand about everything.

8. You are rarely satisfied with most conversations.

There are only a few people who understand your need for thoughtful and deep conversation. Everyone else leaves you thinking in circles, so you make sure to avoid thought provoking conversation unless you know that the person you are with is someone who can actually “Talk it out”.

9. You have to learn how to chill out.

Because you think so much, you worry a lot. You can’t help but foresee what will happen and how you will deal with it.

10. You have frequent mental breakdowns.

Yeah, probably the worst aspect of thinking too much is that there is an inevitable mental breakdown coming your way some time in the near future. You aren't sure when, but it will be a disaster when it comes.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
