1. People don't get your major.
It's not just arts and crafts, people. Nothing is worse than people discrediting your program just because it involves creativity and not math or science. Being an apparel and textiles major is just as hard as any other major, just in different ways.
2. Constantly having projects and tons of stress from that.
Apparel students spend hours in the library -- there were countless nights spent in the library working on group projects or preparing for presentations.
3. A professor hates your work.
More often than not, professors don’t like the angle of the research paper, or the way you designed your project. Nothing is worse than spending hours on your assignment only to be shot down.
4. You feel like you won't be successful if you miss one thing.
Like any other major, there is tons of pressure to get involved with every club and get internships and constantly get prepared for your career. Sometimes it just cannot all be done and that’s okay!
5. You do poorly on an exam, or project, and beg for forgiveness and points from teachers.
Also, like most students, there will be a time when you just don’t do well. Sometimes you have to resort to begging for an extra chance or extra points to keep your grade in the class.
6. You have to pick groups for projects.
In reality, group projects are actually the worst thing ever. And when the teacher says, “pick your group members,” there is a mad rush to find your friends and the people who would be the best to work with.
