10 Bad Ass Supernatural Women We All Are Dying To Be

I often times make articles dedicated to strong female characters and so I decided to do some supernatural characters that I haven't already mentioned in a previous article. These characters are strong and independent. They make great role models and I will always aspire to be as strong as they are.

1. Sally and Gillian Owens (Practical Magic)

Tumblr

Practical Magic is hands down one of the best witch movies of all time. It teaches that magic is possible as long as you believe in it and the movie is all about sisterhood. Sally and Gillian both have amazing personalities and are talented witches. They go through a lot and stay strong and fight their own battles together.

2. Hermione Granger (Harry Potter Series)

Hermione will always be one of the best witch characters ever written. She learns her magic through reading and studying, making her the most relatable witch. Hermione is very talented in her craft and can take on anything. Her character is a great role model.

3. Hayley Marshall (The Originals)

Pinterest

Haley Marshall is first seen in the The Vampire Diaries but you don't get to really know her until The Originals. She is a werewolf, turned into a hybrid (werewolf and vampire) and can take a room full of vampires on her own which is pretty badass. She also has a big heart and is a protective mother in the show. Never ever touch her daughter because she will bite.

4. Bonnie Bennett (The Vampire Diaries)

WeHeartIt

Bonnie Bennett is a witch in the Vampire Diaries and best friends with Elena Gilbert (a character I've mentioned in a previous article). Bonnie sacrifices a lot for her loved ones and is always willing to do everything in her power to protect them and believe me she has a lot of power.

5. Davina Claire (The Originals)

WeHeartIt

Davina Claire is a young teenager witch who has a lot of power. You see her grow up and become a very powerful witch who is pretty unstoppable. She finds herself and she finds love. My favorite line is Kol (her boyfriend) saying "give them hell Davina Claire" and trust me, she will.

6. Katrina Van Tassel (Sleepy Hollow)

Fanpop

Katrina (Christina Ricci) is a witch in the movie Sleepy Hollow who has a relationship with the main character, Ichabod (Johnny Depp). Katrina is a witch who doesn't show her powers often but she secretly protects the people she loves. She isn't afraid to face the headless horseman and is ready to protect the people of the town.

7. Cassie Holmes (Push)

Tumblr

Cassie Holmes is a young girl who is considered a "watcher" in the movie Push. She can see the future and different ways it can go. She tags along with Nick Gant to go after the Division which are people who do experiments on people like Cassie. She is young but she is powerful and isn't afraid to be in the fight.

8. The Scarlet Witch (Marvel Films)

The Scarlet Witch is in many of the Marvel movies such as the Avengers: Age of Ultron and the newest Infinity War. Her name is Wanda Maximoff but is called The Scarlet Witch because of her powers. She is a very strong Avenger who fights for herself and has one of the strongest souls. Since Infinity War is new I won't give any spoilers but lets just say you see some more of her major strengths (inside and out) in that movie.

9. Caroline Forbes (The Vampire Diaries)

Pinterest

Caroline Forbes is another best friend of Elena Gilbert in The Vampire Diaries and starts out as a human who is a bit on the snotty side but then she becomes a vampire. Caroline becomes a very strong women and her personality gets so much better. She has a big heart and is always there for her friends. Caroline isn't afraid to be herself and isn't afraid to fight because she can take you.

10. Jessica Jones (Jessica Jones)

Giphy

Jessica Jones is one of the darker Marvel characters which makes her more interesting. The show isn't as much for kids as the other Marvel movies but she is an important badass character. She has a lot of strength and power but wants to live a normal life and runs an investigation agency. She suffers from PTSD, making her superhero character more relatable. She battles on the outside and on the inside and she does it well.

Although these characters are supernatural they are still very relatable. They go through heartbreak and victories. When they fall they pick themselves back up which is something we all should do. I love seeing great female role models in movies and TV. These 10 female characters are badass and remember so are you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
