As a writer, we are often brought on with different ways to challenge our creativity. One of the challenges I have found many people to enjoy are one sentence stories. If you are unaware of what those are, it's fairly simple. It is a challenge for a writer, they are told to write an entire story only using a single sentence.

As many would expect, it can be quite difficult. You can't really create an entire story line with characters and a plot, instead you're forced to tell your reader a story with as minimal words as possible, but while leaving a major impact in the process. I had given multiple writers a chance to share their creativity in secrecy, for there is no way of judgment this way. Here are 15, one-sentence stories, that will rip your heart out.

1. "Making it to retirement is a blessing not everyone enjoys."

2. "So much thought, yet so little change."

3. "She was strong, but the world was stronger."

4. "He left her cold and empty."

5. "Love wins."

6. "She was scared everyone in her past had left, now she's going through life with caution, she wasn't sure how to let new people in."

7. "I'm hoping he'll miss me."

8. "Words hurt, but even more so when they're coming from yourself."

9. "His brown eyes were warm and innocent, but his hands told a different story."

10. "I awoke another day with an indescribable pain in my chest, and was reminded that it was possible to kill yourself by loving someone whose heart was locked away."

11. "Crib for sale, never used, but pre-built."

12. "And just like that, everything she knew about life, changed."

13. "I can't love someone like you."

14. "It was in that moment that they realized, the presents under the tree would never get opened."

15. "His eyes undressed her long before his hands did."

Writing is beautiful. Writing is powerful. Even with just one sentence, the impact can be huge.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
