Thinking is a disease and one of your greatest gifts.
Now that I am just beginning my last year of being a teenager I thought about how am I going to continue my life with all these adult responsibilities. Then 5 minutes later I'm in my dorm room twin XL bed crying into my pillow about how I am never going to find happiness within my chosen field and how I'm going to live an unexciting life.
Yeah, sure. Deciding I'm going to be a High School English Teacher is pretty cool. But oh wait, my brain just told me I am going to school for the rest of my life and I am going to have to wake up at 6:30 am for eternity.
Right now I am learning how to, simply, turn off my brain. I use an outlet for my anxiety. Drawing, painting, and my absolute favorite thing to do in the world, bullet journal & drink coffee. This is the perfect way that I can stop thinking. Shutting your brain off is the most healthy thing you can do if you are an anxiety driven person like me. This method has me thinking a lot about The Vampire Diaries when the vampires turn their emotions off and not care about anything. Think of that without all the people killing. It's so relaxing.
But don't forget to think. It's okay to think about your future, or your entire life. I know you're thinking about months from now and you don't care about tomorrow because you already that about that day 4 months ago and you know exactly how tomorrow is going to go. You get to decide when you want to turn your brain off. The brain is so powerful and with it you will come up with so many beautiful ideas. But just like muscles, your brain needs a break too.
Maybe you are stumbling onto this on accident, or really searching for a reason on how to maintain your anxiety. I hope you found what you were looking for, perhaps a method on how to manage anxiety and stress. Just remember: Stop thinking.
