Your Go-To Starkville Shopping Guide

Shopping in Starkville can be defined as a MAJOR hit or miss. College students have endless date parties, game days, and swap parties which usually is given within a week's notice. We college students need a guide to help us conquer shopping in Starkville, therefore, we can stop the overnight Amazon shipping for a last-minute outfit. I have given a list below of shops in Starkville, ranked to my according, with a variety of clothes each shop acquires. I hope the list helps make the shopping in Starkville a little bearable!

SWAP COSTUMES:

~Rue 21: Rue 21 has very good accessories, shoes, and from time to time you can find a good outfit for a swap. My rating is 6/10.

~It's Fashion Metro: This store is a go-to place for a funky and fun outfit. It's a very good price range which helps us broke college students. It is my all-time favorite store in Starkville. My rating is 9/10.

~Costume Party: This costume store is good for a fully decked out costume and if you are running out of time. Costume Party has a variety of decade costumes including any decade you have a party for. It's a great costume store, but I would recommend renting the costumes. It can be a little pricey. My rating is 7/10.

~Walmart: Walmart is the mother of all places! The supercenter contains everything you could ever imagine. Do not even try and think that they wouldn't have a good swap outfit. Walmart is a good store to look at when it is around the Halloween season, in which the store would have a variety of very cheap costumes. My rating is 6/10.

GAME DAY OUTFITS / DRESSES:

~D2: D2 is the place to shop. Every college girl knows that they could spend an hour shopping in D2 and spend their entire paycheck from the summer. We have to hold our selves back for the few sprees we can manage. This place has the trendiest game day outfits and semi dresses. They have class dresses, rompers, shirts, and skirts. My rating is 8/10.

~I Just Have To Have It: The new store is a true blessing that opened up in Starkville. IJHTHI has the cutest game day outfits and winter wardrobe for a reasonable price. They have extremely cute dressy coats and have cute sweatshirts. My rating is 7/10.

~Libby Story: Libby Story is the cutest hipster store! It has good quality clothes for a decent price. The store contains date party dresses. It also contains a variety of jewelry. My rating is 5/10.

~LA Green: LA Green is a very reliable store. It has what you are looking for every time and it reminds you of your hometown boutique. My rating is 7/10.

I hope this list gives you a solution for your shopping needs, but if you are just out of luck and nothing works; there is even a better store called your bestie's closet and swap box where you have endless options! And if all else fails, Amazon prime is your new best friend.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
