10 Reasons Spooky Season Is The Best Season

This article is about to get realllyyyy basic, so just be prepared. Because the majority of girls favorite season, is spooky season.

1. The clothes

Leggings, sweaters, sweatshirts, knit hats. I mean, what could be better than these kinds of clothes? It's literally every girl's dream.

2. The food

OHHHH yes. Everyone's favorite thing: food. From the hot chocolate, smores, and Halloween candy, nothing has it beat. Nothing.

3. The cookies

Why did I not include this in the food you might ask? Because these cookies deserve a category all to themselves. We ALL know the cookies that I'm talking about. THE cookies.

4. The weather

October has the perfect kind of weather. There is nothing that can beat the cool weather that has just the slightest bit of chill in the breeze that requires a long sleeve comfort colors t-shirt.

5. The football

Being from the south, college football is an event (an event that is not taken lightly.) October is a month full of football and homecoming.

6. The beginning of the seasons that matter

October is the gateway to all other seasons. I don't mean fall and winter; I mean, spooky, Thanksgiving, and Christmas season. These are the favorites of the mass majority of people, and when October rolls around, everyone is in a better mood because it's only the beginning of the best time of year.

7. The decorations

There is nothing that beats the cute and slightly spooky Walmart decorations. Like I said above, it's just the beginning of all things good!

8. The costumes

Halloween costumes give parties a whole new fun twist. It just would not be the same without the costumes and the unspoken competition of who has the best one.

9. The socials

In college, Halloween is a BIG social season. The swaps and date parties all the way to haunted trails and hay rides. If this doesn't excite you, what are you doing?

10. The lazy days

Picture this: Its a crisp 54 degrees outside. You're snuggled up in bed with your pet. Hot chocolate (or drink of choice) in hand. Not a care in the world other than what is going to happen next on your Netflix show. You got excited didn't you?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
