Summer. -

when everything changes...

when memories - good and bad - are made...

when you spend the entire day blasting the greatest hits…

including these:

------

5. Shawn Mendes ft Khalid - Youth

Unlike many other Summer Songs, which are more light and upbeat, this one is more mellow, and touches upon, indirectly, a sensitive topic. Nonetheless, this is a Song of the Summer, as it is all about being, well, youthful, young and courageous, despite of all that is going on in this world. The only thing that we, as individuals, have and hold onto, is our youth, and no one can take that away from us. As the songs goes, “as long as I wake up today / you can’t take my youth away.”

4. Icona Pop ft Charli XCX - I Love It

This iconic song MAY have been released back in 2012, but there is no denying that it is still, very much so, a JAM. Whenever I hear this song on the radio (and yes, they still play it sometimes!) it makes me want to, given its upbeat and scream-worthy lyrics, start jamming. It makes me want to forget all my worries and just start living freely.

3. 5 Seconds of Summer - Youngblood

Perhaps what makes this song, yet another, Song of the Summer, is its incredible transition from a sweet and subtle sound during its Verses, to an incredible and sick beat-drop during its Chorus. 5 Seconds of Summer hasn’t released a song in what seems like F O R E V E R, and so, with this new release, and upcoming album (due to be released in June!), this song is definitely one to add to your 2018 Summer Playlist!

2. Bazzi - Beautiful

This Song is PERFECT for all those individuals who are lucky enough to be in a relationship, especially during this summer-warm weather. It’s about letting that a significant partner (or a best-friend, because why not?) know that they are beautiful, no matter what they look like. (brb, swooning).

1. Calvin Harris ft Dua Lipa - One Kiss

Calvin Harris seems to always be putting out absolutely jam-worthy songs, and this one is no different. Dua Lipa’s vocals on this song is simply the cherry-on-top. Nonetheless, although this is quite a lovely-dovey romantic kind-of-song, as it is about how all it takes is One Kiss to fall in love, it is still an amazing summer song. After all, whilst one kiss can change everything, as can one summer. Perhaps then, this is the perfect Summer Anthem.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
