10 Songs for When Your Tank is On Empty

Whenever I am feel like I am running out of energy or motivation, music can almost always put things into perspective and make me feel better. I am a believer that a private car jam is one of the best anecdotes to a bad day. Biologically, music stimulates different part of our brain from speech and elicits a greater emotional reaction. Here are my top 10 songs for when I need a deep, pick-me-up.

1. Hallelujah (Sing! Version)

This always reminds me that to even praise the goodness of life in the hard times. Love and life is supposed to be broken, but that only makes it more beautiful.

"Love is not a victory march, it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah"

2. The Cave by Mumford and Sons

Sometimes we need to step away to our philosophical "cave" and reflect on our meaning and purpose in life

"And I will find strength in pain, and I way change my ways, I'll know my name as it's called again."

3. Jesus Take the Wheel by Carrie Underwood

Belting to Carrie Underwood is one of the best therapy ever. This classic is always a good reminder to turn to God to lead you in the hard times.

"Jesus tale the wheel take it from my hands, cuz I can't do this on my own."

4. HAPPINESS by NeedtoBreathe

This song is all about redemption from the past and seeking happiness in the future. It's never to late to start something new or putting your wellness first

5. 30,000 Feet by Ben Rector

This song is all about perspective, when you step back and look at the big picture of life, you can always say "It is an amazing ride" even though you may be a valley now.

6. Unstoppable by Rascal Flatts

This is a reminder that love can get us through anything. If we do things with love, that is all that matters.
