It seems this semester of college has come and gone in the blink of an eye. Papers, projects and exams are looming in the shadows. Part of me wishes I could pull out my wand, fight some magical being and have the headmaster say that exams are cancelled...but this is not Hogwarts, and sadly, I am a just a muggle.
However, what I do have is a magical playlist that sums how I feel about college and to help me make it through this semester.
1. "Good Enough" -- Evanescence
(media.giphy.com)
"I feel good enough for you" as I type the conclusion to the fifth paper this week. I gave it my all, and I will feel good enough for that.
2. "Ring of Fire" -- Johnny Cash
"I fell into a burnin' ring of fire / I went down, down, down / And the flames went higher, / And it burns, burn, burns, / The ring of fire, the ring of fire." Exactly how I feel when I walk in confident about a quiz, and once seeing the quiz, I completely blank. Guessing takes you so far, but it just burns.
3. "Problem" -- Ariana Grande
(memecrunch.com)
I'm not entirely sure who that guy is in the picture, but his face is perfect for the moment when you are turning in a paper whispering, "I got one less problem without ya".
4. "Waiting on Words" -- The Black Keys
Have you ever tried to write something, and you're just sitting there like, "I'm waiting on words / I'm waiting on the one I've been thinking of"" It is a tragic feeling, and overcoming the loss of words is worse.
5. "Lazy Song" -- Bruno Mars
(stream1.gifsoup.com)
I finish my work and sing out, "Today I don't feel like doing anything / I just wanna lay in my bed!" Then, I take a nap because that is acceptable when you are a college kid.
6. "Titanium" -- David Guetta featuring Sia
(38.media.tumblr.com)
"I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose / Fire away, fire away," is the perfect description of the feeling of thinking you have completed everything, so you walk into class to find that the professor has assigned more work.
7. "It's Time" -- Imagine Dragons
Procrastination is a real struggle, so you just look at your work and think, "It's time to begin, isn't it?" You take a deep breath, and slowly start to work.
8. "Uprising" -- Muse
This song is to pump you up before going into an exam. Just start singing, "They will not force us / They will stop degrading us / They will not control us / We will be victorious!"
These are just a few of the many songs on my "Survive College Playlist." Most of the time I just watch Pitch Perfect because it is a wonderfully scored movie (both the first and the second). I want to wish you good luck with school with whatever songs you may listen too!
