The 2000s were such a great time for music. Since I just turned 18 about two months ago, here are 18 iconic songs that remind me of my childhood.

1. "1985" by Bowling For Soup

When I first heard this song, I fell in love with it and jammed out to it. This is one of the many pop-punk songs that defined the 2000s.

2. "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield

I love how catchy yet soothing this song is. This chill bohemian vibe defines another vibe of this era.

3. "Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani

Before Gwen Stefani got married to Blake Shelton, she made this iconic song. This classic song can get a whole room dancing. Anyone who was a kid or teen probably knows about this song.

4. "Slim Shady" by Eminem

What is the 2000s without the man himself, Eminem? Everyone knows Eminem was better back in the day.

5. "Waiting For Tonight" by Jennifer Lopez

Before she became J-Lo, she was known as Jenni from the block! One of her famous songs is this song. Don't wait for tonight to listen to this song.

6. "Yeah!" by Usher

Yeah, yeah, this song is popular and so catchy. It is a song you used to always hear at parties.

7. "Hey Ya!" by Outcast

Believe it or not, I remember this song from field day in Kindergarten; so of course, this song brings back the fun and nostalgia.

8. "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence

Everyone remembers this emotional punk rock song. I love the lyrics and know all of them by heart.

9. "In Da Club" by 50 Cent

This song was always a party hit and it still is to this day.

10. "Misery Business" by Paramore

As one of the best rock bands of the 2000s, this song always brightens my day. I feel edgy and like a badass at the same time.

11. "Hey There Delilah" by Plain White T's

I remember hearing this song and it having a relaxed vibe to it. This reminds me of how simple and good music can be.

12. "Little Talks" by Of Monsters And Men

This may have come out six years ago, but it is still such a great song! I always smile and sing along.

13. "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga

This is throwing it back to the days when Lady Gaga still dressed in her iconic eccentric style. I love this song and most of her songs from this era.

14. "Halo" by Beyonce

After she broke away from Destiny's Child, Beyonce sang this anthem which is majestic and still one of her bests.

15. "That's Not My Name" by The Ting Tings

Whether your name is Stacy, Mary-Jo-Lisa, Jane, or whatever your name is, we can all agree this song was a nice hit.

16. "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift

Before the old Taylor Swift died, she sang this iconic, relatable song. I love the music video and miss her country music.

17. "Just Give Me A Reason" by P!nk ft. Nate Ruess

I love how sweet yet tragic this song is and I'm in love with the vocals between them. It's such a beautiful song.

18. "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry

Back in the day when she was new in the scene and wore colorful wigs, Katy Perry produced some nice music.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
