Lately, a lot of music has been released and have hit the charts. But there are three very important songs that have been released that have big messages and meanings with them. These are the three incredibly strong and important songs that everyone needs to listen to and play.

1. This Is America - Childish Gambino

By now I'm sure everyone has either heard this song or listened to it. The video itself is very surreal and packed full of messages. This is a very powerful video and song as it tackles police brutality, gun violence, media misdirection, and the use of African Americans as a brand shield. In the video itself, murders happen but yet the guns are treated more delicately than the human lives. This is a strong statement given the current debate over gun control. As well as the dancing distracting from what is going on in the background being a huge issue in our world today. Although memes are being created over some of the parts of the music video, it is still a very strong and important song/video.

2. Youth - Shawn Mendes ft. Khalid

The message of this song is simple but VERY effective. The words are right there in plain sight. It speaks on how all of these things are happening in the world and all of these attacks that are taking from us all. The heartbreaking lyrics, "You can't take my youth away/This soul of mine will never break/As long as I wake up today/You can't take my youth away," show a plea to stand strong in the face of hopelessness and violence. It could not be MORE relevant in our world than right now.

3. Fall In Line - Christina Aguilera ft. Demi Lovato

This song is the definition of a feminist-themed empowerment anthem. The song is filled with fiery lyrics about refusing to be told what to do. In the video, the ladies are captives of an oppressive, male-dominated prison facility. And finally, when enough has been enough, the two fight their way out in order to finally make it above ground and to freedom. This song gives so much strength and importance to women being held down or silenced. As Christina tweeted, "To anyone who’s ever felt silenced and repressed, the truth seekers and bold thinkers… may you liberate your voice and break the mold, never back down, and never fall in line."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
