Need some motivation to uplift your spirits or just remember the good times? Here are my top 6 songs from the 1980's. Hope you enjoy them and comment any additional songs that would also fit the 80's list.

1. Bon Jovi- "Living On A Prayer"

Have you ever felt let down and just having a bad day? Need some words of motivation to get your day started and get that boost of energy you need. Living On A Prayer By Bon Jovi can lift up your soul and make you become fierce! We all need that hope and faith, especially when exams or personal obstacles come in the way.

2. Michael Jackson-"Thriller"

Thriller the music video was released in 1982 where it caught world wide attention. Michael Jackson's fashion sense, dance moves, and creativity was demonstrated in this music video. Thriller today is now commonly played especially around Halloween.

3. N.W.A. -"Express Yourself"

Are you with your best friends and in the car and trying to find a nice song to jam to? You looking to be adventurous and wild in the late night or afternoon? Girls want to have fun makes you get out of your pajamas and start dancing everywhere!

4. Survivor - "Eye of The Tiger"

Want to feel motivated when times get rough?! Need that inspiration and motivation to get through rough times? Listen to Survivor they will push you past your limits and get your day starting!

Scarface is an all-time movie classic from the 1980's. It won many awards and has a great soundtrack album. If you ever saw the movie, you will recall this song in the disco scene where Tony is dancing with Elvira. A song that may not have been popular in the 80's but should get more credit for.

9. Grandmaster Flash- "The Message"

Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five was one of the first pioneers in the Hip&Hop industry. This particular song discusses the everyday struggle of living in the ghetto, current events in that time period, and mentioning more about urban community awareness.

10. USA for Africa- "We Are The World"

The 80's had legendary artists that we can't even keep track of. There were so many raw talents from all different genres that why not get the dream team of artists all in one video. We are the World united artists of all genres together for a great common cause. Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Cyndi Lauper, Lionel Riche, Ray Charles and many more etc. There was a remake of the We Are The World for Haiti Version in 2010.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
