Through my adventures down the YouTube rabbit hole, I discovered a popular trend where Youtubers purchased a box of snacks from a country of their choosing and tasted the mystery items either with friends or alone. Naturally, I wanted to buy one as well. Not so much to film, but more so to experience.

My first instinct was to buy a small one and just try it out, but then I thought if I’m going to do it “go big or go home”, so I convinced my roommates to split the price of the premium box will me and we all decided that if we were going to do it then we might as well go all the way so we paid an extra 6 dollars for a drink. In total the box was 55 dollars, so we ended up spending roughly 18 dollars apiece.

For whatever reason, the day we got the box in the mail was a big event. We patiently waited until the time when the person was ready to open it. We ended up getting a box from Ireland and to our surprise, the box was big and was packed with a lot of stuff.

It had everything from chips to candy and an overwhelming amount of chocolate. Fun fact I’m not that great a fan of chocolate, so I spit most of it out. My roommates, however, were mostly pleased with the selection of snacks that were provided.

The next part of the event was to feed the “bad” snacks to our friend. He is kind of a candy addict. We told him to come to our apartment because we had a surprise for him. Then we blindfolded him and put 22 different snacks in his mouth. He had mixed reviews.

As we expected his favorite was the sour gummy candy, but surprisingly he enjoyed some of the things that we hated. In retrospect, it’s a good thing he did because overall, we only like about 50 percent of the snacks, so it could have easily been a waste of money if he had not come to finish off the box.

The best part of this was seeing each person’s reaction to the different snacks. I honestly didn’t like most of the snacks, my roommates liked about half of it, and our friend is still eating it a week later.

This was a fun activity, and anybody can try it if they’re interested, but be sure to try it with friends so you can save money, but also have more fun. Though I didn’t like the crate from Ireland, I did end up buying a medium sized box from Korea on my own. I still shared it with my roommates, and this one was so much better. Marching Through March

Some appreciation for the month of March.

I love the entire year. Well, for the most part. I'm not a big fan of Winter, but even then, every month has something that's pretty great. November? Thanksgiving. December? Winter Holidays. January? New Year's. February? Valentine's and Single Awareness Day. May? Existential dread during finals. But for me, March has always been my favorite month of the year, and for good reason.
