As long as I can remember, I've always been the mom of my friend group. I worry about everyone when we go out together, I give advice that I'm not usually qualified to give, and I even bring snacks when we go places just in case someone gets hungry. It's basically a life calling. I'm simply wise beyond my years. If you relate to any of these signs, you're probably the mom friend too. Embrace it--every group needs one or two!

1. Most of your wardrobe is from Old Navy.

Rock those mom jeans!

2. You look forward to your weekly grocery shop trip.

And the gratification of crossing items off your list.

3. Candles are the preferred gift.

Or coffee mugs. You can never go wrong with those.

4. You always feel the need to tidy up.

After all, cleanliness is next to godliness.

5. You find joy in cooking for other people.

You look for any occasion to pull from your stack of cookbooks.

6. There's always a bottle of wine in your fridge.

A glass a day keeps the doctor away.

7. If you go out, this is where you will be found.

More human-to-animal interaction than human-to-human.

8. Target is your happy place.

I consider it a successful trip if I leave without spending more than $100.

9. Parents love you.

You’re never that nervous about meeting parents because you’re basically a parent yourself. How could they not like you?

10. Your purse has everything anyone will ever need.

Band-Aids, eyedrops, any sort of meds, hand sanitizer, snacks--you are basically a walking pharmacy.

11. People literally call you mom.

Everyone needs a nickname, right?

12. You have a strict bedtime.

10 p.m. is late for you.

13. You’ll leave a party early to watch Food Network or HGTV.

I'll never pass up a chance to watch "Fixer Upper."

14. You tell your friends to “make good choices” before they go out.

And a couple of reminder texts as the night progresses.

15. There are instant heart eyes as soon as you see a baby.

And you start to wonder how you could somehow sneak away with it without anyone noticing.

16. Your planner is your life.

You're always on schedule and a world without your planner is a world you don't want to be a part of.

17. You're religious about your laundry regimen.

Using the same scented fabric softener and dryer sheets brings you happiness and the thought of people not separating their whites, darks and colors makes your eye twitch.

19. You own multiple pairs of matching pajamas.

Functionality over aesthetics.

20. When you play hostess, you find yourself asking your friends things like, “are you too hot? Cold? Do you want a beverage? I can whip us up something!”

You're not a regular mom, you're a cool mom.

21. You leave cute notes for your friends on their big days.

You're constantly making sure everyone's spirits are lifted.

22. You’ve already planned out your future home on Pinterest.

From the exterior landscape to the master bathroom, it's all planned in intricate detail.

Stand, proud moms. One day your kiddos will thank you.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
