Every once in a while a week comes along it is absolutely tiring. You've cried your eyes out six times and eaten your weight in Nutella snack packs. What is there to do now? Surely you can't focus on the last little bit of work you have to do. You can barely focus on climbing out of bed. So, you decide to binge watch tv, but what should you watch? Here, I've compiled a list of the best shows to watch when you're sad.

1. "Skins"

If you've never watched Skins before then you're missing out on prime, sad television. Skins is about a bunch of teenagers in Bristol dealing with their life issues. However, it's not your typical high school show. There is a lot of drugs involved as well as mental illness, family issues, sexuality, race, religion, and of course love. The show itself radiates sadness which is why I think it is my go-to sad show. However, it also holds a lot of angst which really helps sometimes. If you want to watch Skins, I suggest watching generation one and two, which is seasons one through four.

2. "FRIENDS"

Giphy

Everyone knows FRIENDS, but I can't make a list of shows to watch when you're sad without adding the iconic show. FRIENDS is my favorite show overall, but when I'm feeling down I love immersing myself in the never-ending tale of Ross and Rachel's love, Joey Tribbiani's beautiful face, Pheobe's soothing guitar, Monica's neurotic cleaning and Chandler's dad jokes. A lot of times I watch specific episodes, like the one where Monica and Chandler got engaged or the one where Rachel got off the plane. Those always put me in my feelings and give me a good cry.

3. "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit"

If you have never watched Law and Order: SVU then you're missing out on just quality television overall. I love putting on Law and Order just as background noise a lot, but if I'm feeling kind of sad then curling up in a warm blanket with a nice episode of SVU can cure just about any sadness.

4. "Bob Ross"

Bob Ross is such an icon! I love watching him paint, especially when I'm sad and probably needing a nap. His voice is so soothing and watching him paint is absolutely satisfying. I could watch him paint happy little trees for hours or I could fall asleep to his soft words. Either way, Bob Ross will never fail to make you smile.

Bad days come along sometimes too often. Sometimes they come in the form of weeks. When those days come it's important to feel your emotions and make sure you're not stressing out way too much. It helps to watch some good shows and curl up in bed, just for a while. I hope this list helps the next time you have a week of Monday's.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
