We all have those days when we have some free time on our hands (i.e. procrastinating on homework and responsibilities). Here are 8 shows that are perfect for people who'd rather watch TV than study!
1. Taken
Taken premiered in 2017, on NBC. This show is the origin story of the three Taken movies starring Liam Neeson. Taken stars Clive Standen and has loads of action and drama, as well as a great theme. Everyone needs a little action in their lives!
2. Star Trek: Enterprise
This show came out in 2001. This is one of my favorite shows, mainly because of Charles 'Trip' Tucker III (just watch it, you'll see what I'm talking about). This show is perfect when your procrastinating because it has everything! Space, aliens, action, romance, suspense, tragedy, war...literally everything! Don't fill up your empty time with valuable things like family, friends, or a social life...go binge watch Star Trek: Enterprise.3. Between
Between premiered in 2015 and is a great show about an epidemic that is killing the population of the town Pretty Lake. If your somewhere with a wifi connection and are tired of playing whatever app or scrolling through whatever form of social media, pull up Netflix and put that time to good use. In this show you get the chance to question what you would do if were you in this situation, how you'd feel if your loved ones were going through this, etc. There is plenty of mystery and it has the potential to really make you think. So, if you want to put your brain power to good use you should definitely watch Between.
4. White Collar
White Collar is awesome and if you have some time on your hands it's perfect! So sit down and enjoy the show! There is slight of hand, cons, romance, action, bromance, mystery, and thrills. This show is perfect for someone who wants to fill up some space with wit and good looks. The class of this show may even rub off on you, who knows, but it's worth a shot!
5. Hawaii Five-0 (2010)
Hawaii Five-0 is the remake of it's previous 1968 series, but it's the only version of the show that I am familiar with. This show is a great time filler with all of its action, wit, drama, suspense, and case solving! If you have nothing to do, or nothing you want to do, go watch McGarrett beat bad guys up with Williams tagging along. You won't be bored while watching this show!
6. MacGyver (2016)
This remake of the 1985 series is completely different than the old version. In my mind I can't even try to make them the same thing, frankly because the new version just doesn't hold up to what the old version was. Despite that, this show will definitely protect you from those dreadful school assignments. Lucas Till fills the role of the boy genius flawlessly and who doesn't love George Eads? If you want to spend your free time on an adventure with duck-tape and paper clips, this is the show for you.
7. The Tomorrow People
Who doesn't love a show about people with superpowers! Especially when those powers include teleportation! If I could have any superpower it would be that one (so I don't have to worry about traffic). This show is absolutely amazing, there is mystery, suspense, romance, you name it, they have it.
8. Jericho
This show is also a great go-to show when your trying to avoid those scholarly responsibilities. Jericho is set in a small town that is dealing with the aftermath of what appears to be a nuclear attack. There is mystery, suspense, family dynamics, apocalyptic situations, and much more! You'll definitely be entertained by the events of this show and you may even learn some ASL signs! I've already watched it three times... don't judge, it's just that good.
These shows are great for when you just need a break. Everyone needs to have some time to relax and breathe and get invested in something that isn't as stressful as your everyday routine. But after your binge session... do your homework!
