8 Short And Sweet Animal Videos That’ll Make Your Day

Below is a series of clips featuring some of the cutest (if not silliest) birds, cats and dogs on YouTube. For instant gratification purposes, all of these videos are less than a minute, but that doesn't make their entertainment quality any worse. If anything, these few short and sweet seconds are indicative of these animals' abilities to provide quality entertainment—intentional or not—within a short timeframe.

Thank you in advance for taking time out of your day to have it made. Enjoy!

1. “Bird Dancing to Kendrick Lamar’s ‘HUMBLE’”

I saw this on Ellen Degeneres' stand-up comedy show on Netflix, and it got me in total hype mode. I come back to this video from time to time, for the parrot's bop never ceases to remind me of my own super dope dance moves that I perform within the comfort of my own bedroom when no one's watching.

2. "Birb"

Sure, this one's more so a meme than a wholesome animal video, but those seven seconds of neutral chaos still make for a worthwhile watch. After all, if not a wholseome animal video, then why not a wholesome meme video that features animals in it?

“Beatboxing Cat”

Maybe it's just my fascination of animals' interactions with music (peep #1 of this listicle), but I find this beat-bopping cat to be pure, high-quality entertainment. This groovy cat deserves its spot in Ellen Degeneres' life alongside the dancing parrot not only in her stand-up comedy show, but also within her and the audience's hearts.

4. "Crazy NYE in Orlando"

If I ever saw fruit-bearing animals in real life, my day would be made. Watching it on video is the next best thing, and I'm here for it.

5. "What Pigeons Do for Fun"

I don't know much about pigeons, so viewing this video was crucial in teaching me that they do more than just defecate on my windshield and make it a hassle to clean (and see, while driving).

6. “Parrot Vibrates Frantically While Holding Cup”

Birds seem to be a running theme for both YouTube's as well as this listicle's content, so let's keep running with it! This particular parrot drums up its own rhythm with nothing more than an ordinary plastic cup, making for one heck of a talented bird.

7. “Bless You”

If watching clips of sneezes happening in slow motion provides you with ceaseless giggles, then this of one cat's epic lead-up to a sneeze will be the epitome of your version of quality entertainment. The best part? Watching the transition of the cat's open-mouthed, squinty-eyed facial expressions as it anticipates its sneeze.

8. "Sold Pupper Dance"

Ah, there's nothing sweeter than having an animal find its home with a loving owner. And just like Snoopy's happy dance, this puppy's bouncy jig makes it clear that it's happy to now have a forever home. May its owner have just as much of a bonded friendship as Snoopy does with Charlie Brown!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
