I would like to start off by saying that I 100 percent support the women and men in this show, as I believe that sexual expression is important and natural. However, after sitting through the hour-long performance and experiencing the mature sexual content, adult humor, and scantily clad women (and men) I was extremely shocked and concerned by the number of children sitting in the audience.
Busch Gardens is a family-fun destination and designates numerous areas of the park as "Kidsiderate" (locations created specifically for their youngest guests). However, Busch Gardens is clearly lacking this designation when it comes to their annual Howl-O-Scream celebration. One would think that not many parents would keep their younger children in an amusement park after 9 p.m., yet that assumption is clearly far from the truth.
As a 21-year-old, I really liked the show because it was very entertaining. Also, the standing ovation from a majority of the men in the audience at the end suggested that they enjoyed it too. However, was it really appropriate for a man in a speedo to jump on a chair next to children and shake his ass? Was the nurse grabbing Freakenstein's groin in front of a row of kids okay? Were the numerous ass cheeks hanging out of skimpy underwear acceptable for an audience filled with kids?
The show was great, don't get me wrong. However, I don't think it's appropriate for kids. Busch Gardens should take preemptive measures so that families know what they're walking in to. Take a look at the pictures I took while I was at the show, and you can judge for yourself.
1. Lots of touching - check out that hand placement
2. Check out his gesture... and her ass
3. I mean do I really have to explain this one?
4. Garter belts and butts out for everyone to see
5. There were definitely a lot of butts sticking out...
6. And sexual touching
7. And there was another girl on the left side of the stage twerking while this was happening
8. More sexual touching... more inappropriate hand placement (and head placement?)
9. Followed by LOTS of thrusting
10. And of course, more butts
Now, I'm sure some people may call me a prude, but these pictures can't even portray the worst of it. All I'm saying is that maybe Busch Gardens should provide more information for their shows, possibly a rating, or even signs out front so that families know what they're bringing their children in to.
