Set Your Phasers To "Ninja Sex Party"

Ninja Sex Party may write comedy albums, but they are a seriously good band and one worth your time.

This week I got my signed copy of Ninja Sex Party's newest album "Under the Covers: Vol. 2" and I actually almost cried in my car as I opened it up. Seeing their signatures on the front of my CD was overwhelming to say the least, because two of my idols had actually touched this album before it was shipped to my apartment. And yeah, that's really nerdy and fangirl-y to say, but those were the thoughts going through my mind at the time.

Ninja Sex Party. The band's name along brings to mind images of ninjas and parties, and probably sex. And yes, those are all things that come with the band; actually, they're a majority of the things that accompany the band... Yet, there's so much more to the band, though it might take a little bit of listening to know that.

A quick run-down in NSP history, in-case you don't know anything about them. Ninja Sex Party is a comedy band composed of two men: Lead singer Danny Sexbang, a confident but idiotic hypersexual Jewish man, and keyboardist Ninja Brian, a silent but homicidal ninja.

These two characters are portrayed by Dan Avidan and Dr. Brian Wecht, who came together to form the band in 2009 and have been making music ever since. The two have released three original albums, which mostly focus upon the ideas of sex, seduction, and romance, and two cover albums, which cover songs from the 1970s and 1980s.

The latest cover album was released just a couple of weeks ago and is already extremely successful. The band has grown monumentally since it's beginning, partially due to Donald Glover putting one of NSP's early music videos on his blog, according to Avidan on multiple instances.

Ninja Sex Party is one of my favorite bands at the moment, and I'm here to recommend that you give them a shot too, even if you just listen to one of their cover albums.

Everything they do, the band puts their whole hearts into and it shows in the product that comes out. The newest cover album is one of the best things they've done yet. It spins already good songs to make them even better, as if that's even possible.

I can't really name one song that I don't love; sure, there's a couple stand-out favorites, but they are all so good!! But even their comedy albums have this same feel! Even though the lyrics aren't as inspirational or "deep" as their cover albums or other music, they're still fun and catchy and you're probably going to get them stuck in your head at least once.

The guys of Ninja Sex Party are just really good people too, despite what Ninja Brian might "tell" you. They both are super thankful for where they are and constantly acknowledge how much they love their fans. Neither of them could really actually do anything that would hurt anyone or put anyone in an awkward situation. They care about every person who has ever bought an album, cheered them on, or even known them. Dan, in particular, constantly tells everyone how much he loves them and how thankful he is for all they have given him.

They may be a little weird, and they're not for everyone, but honestly, Ninja Sex Party is one of the funniest and coolest bands out there. Their music might be about sex and seduction, Dan and Brian are some of the sweetest humans on the planet.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
