We are throwing it back to 2007 for this one. Serena Van Der Woodsen. The queen of all queens. I have watched "Gossip Girl" all the way through about three and a half times. I have always been a HUGE Serena girl, and not just because I aspire to be Blake Lively. I just always felt more connected to Serena and I could never handle Blair's sassiness or ego.

Yes, every girl wishes they could look like S. But more importantly, S has always been there for words of wisdom through all the good times and the bad. Here are just a few times out of many that Serena Van Der Woodsen said a few things that we could all relate to, one way or another.

1. "The hardest thing is watching someone you love, love someone else."

2. "People keep fighting about the same thing until it breaks them apart."

3. "People do have a power over us, even after they're gone."

4. "I don't wait around to be disappointed. So excuse me if I don't fall for that, or you, ever again."

5. "If you have feelings for someone, nothing else in the world matters."

6. "Earn the spotlight on your own merits. You'll feel better."

7. "People don't tell you who you are, you tell them."

8. "I'd ask how you are but I don't really care."

9. "I needed to make a choice, and I chose me."

10. "I believe in freedom. People doing what they want, following their hearts."

11. "We make our own fairytales."

12. "I've done some things I'm not proud of... and I don't wanna go back to that."

13. "As long as we have each other, we're both gonna be OK."

14. "I'm way more awesome, if you didn't happen to notice."

15. "It's the people you know best that you can hurt the most."

16. "I thought I could start over, but it turns out college is just high school with more expensive books."

Moral of the story here is that "Gossip Girl" never gets old and despite all the years that have passed, Serena's style has never gone out of fashion (I'm talking about clothes and advice). When the going gets tough, turn to Serena for a word or two. We still love her always even though she should have ended up with Nate.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
