The government we all believed in for a large amount of time is starting to do some mean things to migrant families. First, they separated them, and still continue to do so, but now there are DNA test that are occurring in order to reunite the families that were separate it. However, I think we all can agree that the real question is why. Why is the government doing this? Why are they deciding that after all the pain and suffering they caused to do this now?

When you ask someone why they want to come to America, many say to escape the suffering in their home nation or they say to live the true American dream, right. Yet, after all of what the government has been doing, many are having second thoughts about it. The Trump Administration has a "zero tolerance" immigration policy, which stated that all the migrants that cross or crossed that border illegally will face prosecution. Therefore this meant that more than 2,500 children would be separated from their families for two or more months. This meant that the children would be held in facilities by the Office of Refugee Resettlement all over the nation.

One of the most prominent examples would be Martin-Godinez, a nurse in Guatemala who was a victim of this harsh treatment had her daughter and husband taken away from her. She was lucky to get her daughter back, but she had a message to others, "The laws here are harsh. And people don't have hearts," she said."People dream of coming here, to save their lives, but I don't what them to experience what I've gone through,". Tought that I am sure many of you must be thinking that she is luckier than many, she truly is not. She has a daughter that could possibly never see her father, who could be deported, again. She has a hard life ahead of her even though she came to the country that is said they have equality and justice for all.

This, unfortunately, is not all. As a way to fix their mistake, the government is making the people do DNA tests in order to accurately reunite the families. The way that the government is acting, shows that they truly feel guilty for what they have done, which indeed should be the case. However, the plan to reunite all is not even full proof. The children will be reunited with their parents, but whether or not they stay here will be decided upon what the parents proceeding are, and during that time the parents will still be in the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, also known as ICE. Even if the parent is granted the right to stay here, the process of getting their child back with the various laws that are present. One of them is that if the parent is granted the right to be released from detainment then they can sponsor their child under the HHS rule. Remeber, the United States of America is never said to be an easy ride, especially through all of this.

All in all, what the government is doing to these migrant families is truly not fair to them. They come to America for the American Dream and to escape their danger, but instead, all they get is detainment and possibly never seeing their children or for some even siblings again. I mean imagine not seeing your brother/ sister again or your parents again. The thought of that simply hurts, so imagine what all of these families are going through. I guess we just have to see what the future brings us.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
