Searching for love like it's something to be earned
With a box of chocolates and flowers
An expensive ring will always prove your worth
And the only way to show your love is by telling the world
On social media with pictures and hearts
But when these things don't hold your love together
Then giving up is the only option
We all have the choice in who to love
Who to tell all your secrets to and ask for their help
That special someone to say goodnight to
And wake up next to in the middle of the night with comfort
Someone who holds your hand and opens the car door
But,
What if there was something more to love
He would die to give you life
Forgives you at any cost
And will never give up on you
If there were someone out there like that
With endless love and compassion for you
Why would you not run to his arms
And why aren't you
You see,
Jesus died for us and forgave us
Of our sins, with endless love
He will never give up on you no matter the cost
Love is not a ring but a cross
Not flowers but thorns and nails
Stop searching for love that is earned
When love is just a prayer away
