Trees, where would we be without them?

Save A Tree, Save A Life

You may not know this, but trees are essential for us to live. We as humans are dependent on trees because trees provide so many uses. They are useful in paper, rubber, and match industries as well as many more. However, trees are essential to our lives without being chopped down or uprooted. Trees' main role is to give fresh and oxygenated air to us and to absorb CO2 and other pollutants. Trees also give protection, shadow, food, homes, medicines, and other necessities. Trees give the planet our biodiversity. Young trees attract black bears, the American goldfinch and bluebirds. Imagine a world without trees, do you think that you would survive?

Many trees are being taken down because of urbanization, industrialization, and global warming. When saving our trees, we create a healthier environment and a greener earth with them in place. The point that I'm trying to get at is, there are many organizations in the world that plant trees and want to save the planet. One very important organization to become a part of is onetreeplanted.

OneTreePlanted

They are a nonprofit organization dedicated to global reforestation. For every dollar that is donated to their nonprofit, they will plant one tree. Don't want to spend one dollar because you're a broke college student? You can simply take a picture of yourself and post it to your Instagram. @onetreeplanted will plant a tree for each person who takes a selfie with nature and posts on a public account. Simply tag them and you've saved a tree!

I hope that this article has helped someone understand why trees are so important to the world and how to get involved in helping our planet just a bit.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
