You know what it is a good time for?
It’s a good time for a sandwich...which is kind of cheating because literally anytime is a good time for a sandwich. Especially when there are so many different options, all of which are also quite affordable.
It may just be me suffering from emotional stress-eating lately, but sandwiches have been on a constant patrol in my mind.
And as such, I’ll try to infect your minds with 11 of my favorite and easy to make sandwiches.
1. PP&J
Crunchy or smooth, jelly or jam, white or wheat — there isn't a wrong way to enjoy one of these amazing nostalgic things.
2. Ham & cheese
Personally, I feel like this is the classic meat and cheese sandwich. Put a little mustard and mayo on that bad boy if you're feeling extra fancy.
3. Grilled cheese
Feel like a ham & cheese but you forgot to pick up ham at the store? This is the sandwich for you. Tip: Use mayo on the outside of the bread instead of butter.
4. Cold cheese
If you are afraid of stoves or just don't want to spend the two minutes it takes to grill one, then a plain cold cheese sandwich is calling you. Spice it up with some fancy cheese like pepper-jack or swiss. Mmmm.
5. Fluffernutter
Bro, you haven't lived if you've never tried one of these. I mean, it's marshmallow creme and peanut butter, what's there not to like?
6. Egg salad
A staple for many families after Easter, an egg salad sandwich on a soft white bread makes for an amazing lunch.
7. Peanut butter banana
This is another staple from my youth. I still find myself making it more often than any other sandwich. For some reason, I love this refrigerator-temperature cold.
8. Tomato & cucumber
I think I first saw this sandwich on a Gumpy show, and as a kid who loved Gumpy, I had to try it for myself. I feel like this is one of the fancier ones as you need fresh ingredients, but it's definitely worth it.
9. Egg in a nest
There is something about this sandwich that just seems fun to me. Aside from the fun, it's extremely tasty. Cook the egg so the yolk is still a bit runny and then use the cutout center piece of bread as a mop for the yolk. Gah, now I want one of these now.
10. Toast with jelly
This is still a sandwich, right? Right???
11. Grilled egg and avocado sandwich
Alright, I know I said the tomato & cucumber sandwich was kind of fancy, but this one has bravado which automatically moves it into a whole other fancy level.
