St. Patrick's Day is coming up soon and then green will be everywhere. Now, St. Patrick's Day is both a cultural celebration and a religious one that is held every year on March 17th. It's going to be a good time. Now, if you decide to drink on this day, I'm not going to judge you for it. But there are ten other things that one can also do other than drinking when it comes to St. Patrick's Day.

1. A scavenger hunt

You can do this anywhere and with anyone. You can get creative with it. You can play it in your house, backyard, town, and so on. You could do a photo scavenger hunt, or you could collect things like prizes. Or you could do both.

2. Run or walk a 5K

This is something that you can do alone, or with your friends and/or family. Strive for the gold!

3. Go to a concert

Maybe your town or a town near you has a concert that you can go to. You could go to a concert where there is Irish music being played, and you can dance along to the dancers that are on stage.

4. Try different Irish food

It's never too late to try something new. Popular Irish food consists of Irish stew and bacon and cabbage. You could check out different local restaurants to see if they have any specials going on.

5. Attend a parade

Many cities like Boston, San Diego, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, and Cleveland all have parades taking place on St. Patrick's day. There is a lot that goes into parades and it sounds like fun.

6. Go out to eat or stay in and cook

Whether you go alone, with your friends, or family. You could go to your favorite restaurant to get some food, or you could try something new. Whatever you feel like doing. If you don't feel like going out to eat, you can stay in and cook an Irish meal.

7. Rollerblading or ice skating

I've never tried ice skating, but it sounds like a lot of fun. I haven't roller bladed in a long time. So, it might be time to bust out the skates and go. This is something fun that you can do with your friends and family or you could go by yourself.

8. Catch a movie

Whether you want to stay at home or go to a theater, you could watch a movie or have a movie marathon. This is another great thing that you can do either by yourself, or with your friends/family. You could catch a documentary too about Irish culture. There are so many options to choose from.

9. Crafts project

You can make a craft by yourself or with people. You could do a craft that has a St. Patrick's Day theme to it. Crafts can be fun and a good way to let your creative side out. You could be good or bad at art. It doesn't matter.

10. Have a game night

Invite friends or family over and have a game night. Bring all your favorite games, play some music, have food and drinks and just have fun.

There are probably way more things that you can do on St. Patrick's Day that I didn't include on this list. Whatever you decide to do on this day, I hope you have fun and have a great St. Patrick's Day. Because what it really comes to is celebrating St.Patrick, the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, Irish culture and heritage, and just having fun with the ones that you love. Have a great St. Patrick's Day!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
