It's A Ruff Job But Someone's Gotta Show These 7 Signs Of Being THAT Dog Mom

If you ask me, there aren't too many differences between being a mom to a fur baby or an actual human one. The life you once had instantly changes into one that is completely revolved around the new family member. Sometimes it can be hard to figure out who you are in this new role. But luckily, I'm here to help. If you feel like you could be that dog, mom, everyone talks about, here are 7 telltale signs you are.

1. All of a sudden, your social life becomes less of a thing.

After becoming a dog mom, the social life you once prided yourself on quickly starts to change. Those plans you made with your girlfriends for Friday night? You might as well cancel them now to stay home with your puppy because we all know you are going to anyway and it's better to do it sooner than later. Plus, snuggling on the couch with your dog and a glass of wine is honestly the best life you could live.

2. If you can't bring your dog, is it even worth it?

Giphy

Your workplace? Doctors appointments? Parties? If you can't bring your pup, why even go in the first place? People need to know you guys are a package deal.

3. "Baby talk" becomes your first language.

Giphy

You know when people are around babies for more than two minutes and they automatically pick up this other language no one can understand? The same thing happens with dogs and while I'm sure they absolutely hate it, everything sounds cuter in baby talk. Am I right?

4. Your restaurant choices come with special requirements.

Giphy

You'll quickly learn all the best local dog-friendly restaurants to go to, especially the places that give water bowls; treats, and lots of kisses to your child. Eventually, maybe you'll even get discounts for being a regular.

5. Leaving them at home is truly heartbreaking.

Giphy

No matter what, it is hard not to feel guilty for leaving your baby at home. But once you get back, their happiness and excitement make it all worth it and all the better.

6. "Want to see pictures?"

Giphy

No, people really don't want to see the 500 photos you have of your dog wearing that one Halloween costume. But you get an A for effort and persistence, girl. You do you.

7. You'll lose sleep like you have a newborn.

Giphy

Yes, it's a real thing. After co-sleeping with a 50+ pound dog, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. But do you care? Not at all because it means more cuddles with your baby.

Its the best job in the world, y'all.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
