F.R.I.E.N.D.S. the show that was so icon that three generations later it is still talked about and buzzed. The show covered so many topics in ways that you can get a laugh out of it, but feel something too. From weddings, to adoptions, to abandonment, to babies, to pure unadulterated love. But one couple everyone was rooting for from the beginning is Ross and Rachel. They were relationship goals and here's why. 

1. Ross loved Rachel from the beginning.  

From a flashback we saw that Rachel's prom date was going to stand her up. Who came to the rescue? Ross. Rachel didn't even know he got ready and planned on helping her have the best prom of her life. Until her date showed up. Ross never planned on telling her until his sister played the video of that day. Showing how Ross always managed to have her back. 

2. They loved each other purely. 

Being friends for so long they knew each others likes, dislikes, short comings, their failures, and successes. Even still with all that knowledge, they still loved each other. Knowing all they knew about each other. 

3. They showed us never to abandon your long loss love. 

From a childhood crush, to adult love. They held each other at a high standard and kept hope a live that one day they will end up together. That hope finally came to pass when they ended up not only with a child but with each other. 

4. Even when they both made dumb mistakes they still managed to find their way back to each other with a love like never before. 

Ross cheated, Rachel lied, they both thought it was the best interest at heart for them to go their separate ways. But in the end they both knew they loved each other so purely and whole heartedly that they could never go without each other. 

5. They showed waiting for your "person" is always worth the wait. 

It took years for Ross and Rachel to realize  their love for each other. Even then it took time for the transition from friendship only relationship to a full relationship. But they showed us anything is possible.
