There might be nothing lovelier in the world than pretty words. The best ones, though, sum up every bit of madness and beauty that we tend to ignore in ourselves ordinarily. Robert M. Drake writes some of the most wonderful words about love, loss and finding strength in yourself that you will ever read. They will make you feel invincible, worthwhile, strong and special. Here are some excellent life lessons you can learn from his poetry.

1. Never stop looking for beauty in anything and everything.

The world is horrible and scary and hurts a lot of the time, but some of the time, it's beautiful and those times are worth finding.

2. Love is nonsense.

But not everything needs to make sense all of the time.

3. Live in the moment.

The rest of it probably doesn't matter all that much, anyway.

4. Let things go.

Burn the hate before it burns you out, and then let yourself burn so brightly that everyone stops and stares.

5. It's OK to love something that isn't forever.

That doesn't make it matter any less.

6. Be different.

And reckless and irresponsible and crazy, even if it means you might break sometimes. The broken pieces of us make us who we are, and who we are is beautiful.

7. Be unstoppable.

Be wild and rebellious and caring and gentle. Dream big and fight for what makes your heart beat fast. Accept your victory graciously.

8. Trust people who see beauty around them.

There's probably a reason the beauty finds itself surrounding them. It's attracted to the beauty that's already found its home inside.

9. There's no fun in ordinary.

It's the extraordinary things that give the world meaning.

10. It's OK to keep moving on.

Nothing is meant to last forever, anyway.

11. Don't settle.

Find someone who makes you feel extraordinary because they too are anything but ordinary.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
