When we are young we have no reason to think ahead,

Or expect anything in our perfect lives to change,

Days blur together, some filled with laughter others tears,

Family and friends who truly care are always there,

But a twisted evil lurks in shadows,

The malicious soul slasher named Time,

Thankfully adolescent ignorance protects us,

Locking time in a cage and burying him deep down,

The weight of infinities moments ahead,

Secures the fiend in its cell Alone,

In emptiness time lets loose with a laugh,

Yet again another poor soul has fallen into his trap,

Awaiting patiently allowing the forever illusion to last,

Time hides away letting more moments pass,

Enamored by a timeless haze you begin to care less,

With infinite days ahead, each one matters less and less,

Seizing the opportunity of your ignorant bliss,

Time slips out of cage his mark never missed,

By letting you believe in endless memories,

He caused your appreciation to slowly decay,

He has brought reality back, meaning everything must eventually go away

Now the time that messed up f&@k,

Can simply come and watch with glee,

As you realize everything in life is numbered no day is free,

Even things that occurred 1000 times before,

End abruptly before your eyes,

Never giving you a chance to realize,

How special things truly were…Time has won, all that you love will soon be gone.
