It's been the only thing talked about for a week. If you don't know what's going on, here's a summary:
Basically Taylor Swift wasn't too happy about Kanye West's lyrics in his new song "Famous". A few months back Kayne said he got Taylor's approval for the line, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous." However, Taylor denied approving the lyrics. Then earlier this week Kim Kardashian released a series of videos on her Snapchat of a "private" call between Kayne and Taylor where Taylor is thanking Kanye of warning her of the lyrics in his new songs.
Now here's what I have a problem with:
First is that Kim released those videos, which were of a private phone call that was just supposed to be Kanye and Taylor. If they tables were reversed, I guarantee the whole Kardashian family would be extremely angry at Taylor and they would try and make Taylor look like the bad guy. Secondly, Kanye never told Taylor that he had the phrase "I made that bitch famous" in his song. So he completely left that part out without Taylor knowing, and I don't blame her for being angry. First, Kayne credits himself for making Taylor famous at the VMAs, which is obviously not what happened, and secondly he used a derogatory word towards Taylor. I also have a problem with the whole Kardashian's response on Twitter. Khloe was tweeting Chlöe Grace Moretz, who is only 19 by the way, and was trying to out Chlöe with a not-so-flattering bikini shot, for which Chlöe then had evidence to prove it wasn't her.
I also have a problem with they way people have responded to this whole situation. While yes, Taylor was OK with the few lyrics that Kanye proposed to her, she still didn't know the rest of it. But people are so fast to jump on the bandwagon and send hate to Taylor through every means of social media there is.
I'm not saying Taylor is a saint in this situation at all; she clearly had knowledge of the song, but sending hate is not the way to go. For all we know, this is some sort of publicity stunt between both Taylor and Kanye, but I find it funny no one's thought of that, when everyone was quick to assume Taylor and Tom's new relationship was. It just goes to show that when it comes to Taylor, everyone wants to assume the worst of her, but when it comes to Kanye and Kim, they're the innocent victims who are just trying to bring "art" into the world by having wax figures of nude celebrities, including Taylor (who hasn't even spoken out about that yet, bless her soul) in Kayne's "Famous" music video.
