Why won't you let me play too, Odyssey?

A quick picture post to check if I've been let in like they say.

Why won't you let me play too, Odyssey?

Back in February, I joined an Odyssey community. Unfortunately, my editor decided to single-handedly eliminate me from the Odyssey team in less than eight days and without a logical reason as to why. But I think it was because I was text-talking about cat emojis.

😺😹😻😼😽🙀😾😿

And I believe this made my very nervous editor decide I had to be STRAIGHT UP CRAZY because she INSTANTLY killed my feed, my profile, and all possibilities to continue writing with an Odyssey community. Honestly, I think she was afraid of me – or that the weird, quirky, sarcastic bits of me would reflect back on her so she simply got rid of me. But dang if that isn't DISCRIMINATION!! Too bad I can't get anyone at Odyssey to agree with that summary or even respond to my email inquiries as to how this instantaneous, Saturday night removal of me came to be justifiable in the scheme of fairness and equality. Certainly, this sucks!

And it all begins to suck even more as time goes by and I'm continuously ignored! Obviously, all of it has scarred me with sickening, depressing feelings of unworthiness as I was deemed unfit for even this free writing opportunity. It's just unfair! Especially considering my Odyssey with the Odyssey doesn't end there. Nope! I was enticed to enter back in with an independent profile – after the killing of me in the community! Sure, I wanted the editor and the feedback, but again – it seems I'm the exception to every rule and worthy to be removed without reason.

However, as I decided to reenter Odyssey with an independent profile, Odyssey directed me to do this via their own beta testing platform. Again, I built everything, filled in my information, and posted the stories I had previously attempted to submit to my community before the cat emoji incident. I think it worked but the next time I came to log in, I had to do it by entering with Facebook, and that led to the technological death of my independent profile. Quite simply, it has been jacked up since February without any remedy – despite a handful of requests for Odyssey's assistance with their broken technology. Now, this frustrates me!

So, I've now been told to try Odyssey again, with specific instructions to use this other email address. Unfortunately, I don't think it's working either. And that's why I'm making this desperately dumb post. I'm simply attempting to see if I'm really with the Odyssey! Double-dang! And shame on me for thinking the Odyssey was really an "open, free to everybody" nonpaid, democratic website for writing stories. Obviously, this hasn't been true for me!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
