A Reminder To The Cynics

Good people are everywhere

Okay, yah, I'll admit sometimes I get in a zone and I think it's a hard world out there! Every man for himself! No one cares about anyone unless they benefit! But...BUT sometimes we need a reminder that isn't always the case. You'll meet a lot of people like that, like a lot a lot so watch out, but that doesn't mean the good people aren't out there. And they're everywhere too! People exist that are genuinely nice and here is your reminder of it.

Not everyone is out there trying to use or abuse you. Some people just want to brighten your day with as little as a smile or as big as baking you a cake. There's good people everywhere whether it's the people who want to actually help you learn and watch you succeed in life like teachers who you know are doing what they love as in help you because they aren't paid enough. Then there's other people like police officers and even volunteer fire fighters who risk their lives to help or save yours for a pretty low salary as well. Then there's the everyday people, the ones you see in the halls at school or the ones in the office. They'll genuinely ask you about your day because they either care or so nice they ask you out of habit of being nice. They'll ask you about that test or the report you had due. They remember the little things you seem to forget until they bring it up again. They make you feel important because you are important.

It's easy to be pessimistic, but sometimes you need to take a step back, no, a step forward and take a more narrow look at life. Look at an individual and see their goodness flowing from them from little actions for offering you a smile to holding the door for you or offering you a couple cents so the cashier doesn't have to come up with ninety five cents of cash and can just give you a full dollar back. Good people are everywhere and I feel like sometimes we all just need a reminder of that.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
