Why Religion Gets A Bad Rap

It's not a "one size fits all."

Why Religion Gets A Bad Rap

How awesome is it that there are so many religions? Not one better than the other, but just spread God's word differently.

We are each made so differently and God created us to find encouragement in different ways. Just like he knows we struggle differently, find success differently, and crave him differently. For instance, one person may find a devotional to remind them how much they are loved. While other religions stop in the middle of their day to walk to a temple and bow before their creator.

One thing we all have in common is that we were created to spread love and share the gospel however we feel is right.

I've always been fascinated with the way people are so passionate about their religion. Everyone finds a place where they hear God the clearest and sometimes it's while practicing a different religion you grew up practicing.

Religion isn't a one size fits all. It's a "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" situation. It fits us differently and we wear it differently too. Some people can yell it from the rooftops wanting to encourage everyone how incredible it feels to know their creator. Others can sit quietly while still building a relationship with their creator. Whichever is your approach, it's beautiful to be open-minded and seek to understand. We are made to love everyone's differences, flaws, and quirks.

It's breathtaking that we can trust someone so much that it changes the way we live. Like reading the book about our creator knowing that we are loved by someone so much bigger than ourselves.

I encourage you to dig deep in your religion and see what draws you to it. Before critiquing someone else's religion, remember that we are all made to understand differently.

Side note: I am a sucker for a good, meaningful commercial. This one makes my heart literally melt to a million pieces on the floor.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
