New York City is known as the city that never sleeps, and that’s just what it is! This upbeat city is home to many historic museums, cafes, restaurants and famous sites. There is such cheap transportation in and around the city, you cannot beat it. A city like this is something people should experience and visit at least once in their life.

1. The Superb Food

The endless cafes and restaurant choices are amazing. There are some hacks to eating cheap throughout the city, but some of these high end, one of a kind places are so worth it! I enjoyed the Its Sugar Factory for a famous Goblet drink. There are many different types of cuisine available throughout the city, such as, BBQ, Hawaiian, Japanese (poke bowls), Chinese and American. All delicious, I definitely ate my way through Manhattan!

2. The Famous Sites and Architect

The Flat Iron building, Radio City Music Hall and honoring the fallen Twin Towers are all must dos in the city that never sleeps. The Empire State building gives a 360 view of the entire city, an absolutely spectacular view! A famous museum is the Metropolitan of Art and is known for the steps that are laid out front, many television shows have filmed here, including Gossip Girl.

3. The Night Life

The nightlife is always alive and people are always out. The bars and clubs are (almost always) open and people are always looking for a good time in this city! There are always live concerts to see at Madison Square Garden and theirs street music and dancers all over the city!

4. The Must Sees' and Dos

While in New York, there are some things that you just have to do! The statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge and Central Park are just some of the first famous sites that comes to most minds. Coney Island and Staten Island are fun day trips to branch out and see for those who have more time in the city. Rockefeller Center, Chinatown and Soho are more popular tourist destinations throughout Manhattan. It is also important to visit the 9/11 Memorial and the Trade Center to see the harm and damage that was done on one of the worst days in the United States history.

5. Broadway Shows

This is what the city is known for! The Broadway district has shows playing every night. A trip to the city would not be complete without a broadway show! I suggest playing the lottery for the chance to win cheaper tickets (you would be surprised at how many people win each day) this is a fun way to win the chance to see any show that’s playing! I won the lottery and saw Cats last August and it was amazing!

If you hang around after the show, you can meet some of the cast and crew!

New York City is such a huge place that you wont be able to see everything during one trip, however, a city of such popular demand isn’t for everyone. I think it is important to go at least once and see the landmarks, be a tourist and really enjoy one of the most famous cities in the entire world! Take a train for the weekend (trust me parking in the city is a disaster) and take it all in!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
