When I was growing up, soccer was my sport. I played it competitively and I watched it on TV. So, when I saw the movie "She's the Man" I instantly fell in love. Not only did the storyline intrigue me, but the movie had the perfect amount of comedy to go along with it and the characters made the movie as great as it is. I bet you're wondering why it's so amazing though? Well, here's 11 reasons why I highly recommend it.

1. Amanda Bynes

When the movie aired in 2006, Amanda Bynes was still at the height of her fame. Coming a few years after "The Amanda Show," she carried her comedy over to this movie.

2. Channing Tatum

Because who doesn't love him?

3. The quotes

I mean, it is called "She's the Man"...

4. The quotes, again

They're just too good to only credit one time.

5. The comedy


"Shirts vs. skins."

6. The drama

Yikes! That's one way to break up with someone.

7. The storyline

Who doesn't want to watch a girl try to fit in with the boys?

8. The romance

Who wants to watch a movie without a love story?

9. The life lessons

The whole movie is about how Amanda Bynes' character has to prove she's good enough to play soccer. So to do this, she dresses up as a boy to show she's just as competitive and capable as the boys are to play sports.

10. Because Amanda Bynes is all of us

One word: food.

11. Soccer

Because believe it or not, there was some soccer playing, in between all the drama and romance.

It's just an hour and 45 minute long movie, but it is worth the time. You get comedy, drama, romance and sports all combined into one movie. 10/10 recommend.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
