I have seen so many posts, comments, memes, GIFS, etc... on why we need to start celebrating Christmas once it hits November 1. Uhm has anyone ever heard of the holiday referred to as Thanksgiving?!
I know I sure have and let me tell you, it is one of the best ones out there! Turkey, pies, family, and Black Friday shopping! What's there not to love? In this article, I will be explaining 7 reasons on why you should NOT skip Thanksgiving in the month of November!
1. The Food!
Turkey, ham, candied yams, sweet potatoes, cornbread, stuffing, cranberry sauce... My mouth waters just thinking about it. Starting November 1st, you best believe I am going to be planning the grocery lists for the upcoming feasts I am about to embark on.
2. A Long Weekend
Everyone loves a few days off from work or school! Especially if its for a holiday dedicating to eating and sleeping! Sign me up!
3. No Gifts!
One fantastic thing about Thanksgiving is that you don't have to stress the entire month on getting everyone and their mother a gift. Its just you, family, and that oven roasted turkey in between y'all!
4. Sweatpants and a Nap...
This is the only time of year where it is 100% A-OK to take off those jeans and change into some comfy sweats! Its also perfectly acceptable to take a long and peaceful nap after you demolish all that food.
5. The Leftovers!
My absolute favorite part about Thanksgiving is the leftovers that go with it. Being a college student, leftovers are a lifesaver!
6. Shopping!
Black Friday! Black Friday! Black Friday!
7. Giving Thanks!
I adore going on social media and seeing why everyone is thankful. It is the day everyone is forced to express how grateful they are for everything and I find that so important! It warms my heart. I also enjoy taking every day in month of November and meditating each day on why and what I am thankful for. It is such a humbling experience!
