8 Reasons To Love Fall
Gal Meets Glam

Just as the temperature drops below 65 degrees, everyone breaks out there perfect fall booties and infinity scarfs and stands in Starbucks waiting to get there first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. Fall is a wonderful time of the year so grab a hot chocolate, put on your warmest pair of socks, and snuggle by a fire because I'm about to list some of my favorite things about fall.

1. The Clothes

September through November is the time of year when you break out your comfiest oversized sweatshirts and fuzziest socks. It’s the perfect time to wear jeans or leggings everyday paired with your favorite sweater and cute boots. There is no denying that fall brings out out the fashionista in all of us.

2. The Food

Between the Thanksgiving turkey and Halloween candy corn, the food is so good this time of year. Starbucks brings out the classic PSLs and the whole world goes into a pumpkin spice craze. Tons of pumpkin flavored foods hit the shelves and people go to apple orchards to hand pick the best apples.

3. The Weather

For most of the fall season, it’s the perfect combination of not too hot or cold. It’s not cold enough to use your heavy winter jacket, but it’s just cool enough to rock your favorite cardigan.

4. Leaves

Who doesn’t love it when the leaves change colors!? Seeing the different trees display different hues of red, yellow, orange, and brown is truly breathtaking and beautiful. Plus, it’s super insta-worthy.

5. The Holidays

Two holidays, three words: Halloween and Thanksgiving! Halloween is the time of year where everyone from preschoolers to college students can dress up as their favorite character and pretend to be somebody else for a night. While everyone loves all the candy that comes to stores, especially the after Halloween sales. And Thanksgiving unites families from all across the United States and ultimately leads to overeating and arguments over politics. Ah, the holidays.

6. Activities

There is always something to do during the fall season and you’re sure to be busy almost every weekend. From pumpkin patches, to haunted attractions, to even corn mazes and apple picking, tons of activities are available for people of all ages.

7. The Photos

One of the best times of the year to snap amazing photos and share them with the world. Whether that be you and all your friends at a Halloween party, or of the beautiful scenery outside. So grab a few friends and have a fun photoshoot at least once this fall season.

8. TV Shows and Movies

A horror movie fanatics favorite time of the year. Tons of scary movies always come out before Halloween and it’s also a great excuse to pull out your favorite horror film. But if you’re not into scary movies, there are still cult classical Halloween movies such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Halloween Town, Hocus Pocus, and The Addams Family to put you in the mood. And even after Halloween has passed, there is still the Thanksgiving Day Parade and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving to watch in November.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
