Over the last few years, millennials have developed an infatuation for dad's. They're seen as being wise and supportive, who want nothing more than to see you succeed (the dad-bod also helps). So it's not a surprise that a game like Dream Daddy exists. In the game, you play a single father who just moved into the town's cul-de-sac. There, you find seven dad's who are interested in being more than just friends with you. After playing all of their paths, I've developed a best-worst ranking. Hopefully, you'll find your dream daddy!
1. Craig Cahn
2. Hugo Vega
Hugo is the “teacher dad” of the cul-de-sac. His path is so adorable to play through! He's intelligent, caring and passionate. But as we find out, he has an interest bedsides books; something he's embarrassed about loving. It's up to the main character to show him that he shouldn't be ashamed of who he is.
3. Robert Small
A lot of us have a special place in our heart for Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome. So it's natural that a guy like Robert would be appealing to so many fans. However, the more time you spend with him, you start to see his softer, more vulnerable side. And through that, you're able to show him that it's never too late to change.
4. Damien Bloodmarch
Damien is our resident “goth dad” with a love for the Victorian era. He's a total sweetheart, and never fails to treat the main character like a prince. But there's a side to Damien that he doesn't show anyone, and part of the fun of his path is finding it.
5. Mat Sella
Unlike the other dad's, Mat doesn't have any particular eccentricities. He's just a chill guy who loves music. And that's what makes him so charming. You can have fun with him by doing “mundane” things like record shopping and chilling at his house (with the help of some oregano).
He's the kind of guy who makes you feel like you can do anything. And in time, he feels the same way about you.
6. Brian Harding
At first, I hated Brian. The way he boasts about his daughter was annoying to me, and he seemed to make it a point to show off how much better he was than my character. But this path is proof that everything may not be what it seems, and that you should look at yourself before judging other people. As a matter of fact, it wasn't Brian that ruined this path for me: It was my character.
7. Joseph Christiansen
Joseph is a “cool” youth pastor at the local church, with an avid love for boats and margaritas. He's the love interest that piqued my curiosity the most, not only because he has a haunting cult ending, but also because he's the only dad in the cul-de-sac that's still together with his spouse. I was eager to see how this dynamic would play out in the story.
As it turns out, his path was the most awful one to play through. He was only interested in using my character for one thing or another, pretends he's this holy man and has broken the hearts of at least three people in the cul-de-sac. At the end, I just wanted my character to give Mary (Joseph’s wife) a hug after all the unhappiness he brought on them. He's a selfish jerk, and the last person you'd ever want to be with.
Do you think you've found your Dream Daddy? Well, buy the game on Steam and pursue him!
