20 Of The Best Quotes From Rupi Kaur's "Milk And Honey"

Recently I read the book "Milk and Honey" by Rupi Kaur. "Milk and Honey" is Kaur's journey of surviving through poetry. It is Kaur giving you her heart and the hurting, loving, breaking, and healing she experienced.

And to be honest, this book kinda changed my life.

Here are 20 quotes from Milk and Honey that changed my life:

1. "You have been taught your legs are a pit stop for men that need a place to rest, a vacant body empty enough for guests but no one ever comes and is willing to stay."

13. "I do not want to have you to fill the empty parts of me. I want to be full on my own. I want to be so complete, I could light a whole city and then I want to have you, cause the two of us combined could set it on fire."

14. "Love will come and when love comes, love will hold you, love will call your name, and you will melt. Sometimes though, love will hurt you but love will never mean to, love will play no games cause love knows life has been hard enough already."

16. "I am a museum full of art, but you had your eyes shut."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
