As calculated as ever, Onika Tanya Maraj, more commonly known as Nicki Minaj, has finally returned from her four-month hiatus. The mere excitement of her return to hip-hop was met with a barrage of a million tweets as she trended number one for the following 48 hours.

On April 10th, Nicki Minaj posted two tweets telling her fans that she has two new singles, “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li,” and a collaboration with Young Thug called "Anybody" coming out April 12th.

Coming in guns blazing, Nicki once again proved she is the reigning Queen of Hip-Hop. After major success in 2017 with close to 22 collaborations, Nicki took a four-month hiatus where she completely disconnected from all social media. This hiatus was mainly in an effort for Nicki to put her all into making good music.

While Nicki continued to have major commercial success in 2017, the culture did not agree. Starting with the infamous Remy vs. Nicki, the felon Remy Ma took shots at Nicki Minaj in a seven-minute song called "Shether," a play on Nicki’s latest love interest Nas’ diss track to Jay-Z. Almost as if unbothered, Nicki let Remy attack her while Nicki was in Paris Fashion Week making headlines for her always iconic looks.

Then out of nowhere, Nicki dropped three hit records. "No Frauds" was the diss track where Nicki took shots at Remy, exposing her for shooting her friend over $5 as well as her ghostwriters and plastic surgery.

After the recent success in female entertainer Cardi B, many said Nicki’s time was over and she was "washed up." As time went on during her hiatus, however, more and more information came to light regarding the truth behind Cardi B. With every song release, there seemed to be some sort of ghostwriter, mainly Pardison. Even with the funds from Atlantic, Cardi still couldn’t match the bars Nicki has introduced to us throughout her past 10 years. With simple lyrics and trap beats, Cardi was able to score a number one album despite only selling 105k in pure sales during her first week of sales.

Nicki’s latest two singles, "Chun-Li" and "Barbie Tingz," have already outsold Cardi’s album and in just 11 hours of sales counting toward the charting week, both singles managed to debut on the Billboard Hot 100.

It is clear that Nicki is back to retrieve her throne and is getting her fans ready for her upcoming album. So get ready, cause it’s Nicki Season.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
