10 Shows To Binge Watch During Quarintine

In This Article:

During self-isolation, we are trying to pass the time, and so a lot of people are watching TV. We've gone through so many shows already, and we don't know what else to watch. Let me give you some suggestions on what you can watch while being cooped up in the house.

1) On My Block (Netflix)

This coming of age drama is set in Freeridge, California. It is about a group of friends surviving high school and growing up fast in their environment. The show tackles racism, violence, family drama, young relationships, and that's just in the first season. The show has three seasons available for stream.

2) Never Have I Ever (Netflix)

This new show is about Indian-American and her friends navigating high school/puberty. We've all been there, and it's fun to relive our younger years through TV. The character Devi is my spirit animal and is based on the creator of the show, actress and comedian Mindy Kaling. The first season is now on Netflix, and there's already hype for a second season.

3) Euphoria (HBO)

Euphoria was a breakout hit in 2019. It follows the life of Rue, a recovering addict navigating life through her sophomore year of high school while maintaining her sobriety. The characters each have their flare in the show that makes the story great. You can catch the show on the HBO App, and season 2 is on the way.

4) Star (Hulu)

This short-lived musical drama is about a girl group coming together and moving to Atlanta to pursue their music dreams. They go through the struggles of the music industry and their battles. The show is three seasons and is available on Hulu. You can check out the soundtrack on Apple Music and Spotify if you're looking for new music.

5) YOU (Netflix)

Now, this show is a trip. It's based on a book and is a Netflix hit. The show is about Joe, a new yorker who uses social media to stalk his girlfriends i.e., obsessions all around the city. It'll have you wanting to delete your social media after watching. The show has two seasons, and season three comes out next year in 2021 (or whenever COVID passes).

6) Little Fires Everywhere (Hulu)

This show is everyone's new favorite guilty pleasure. This limited series takes place in the '90s in Shaker, Ohio, and the story is about two mothers from different social classes and their lives crossing. The show explores wealth and race in this society, with the mystery of the season being who set fire to the family home. All episodes are on Hulu for streaming.

7) Sex Education (Netflix)

This coming of age teen dramedy takes place in the UK and surrounds a teenager that becomes his school's sex therapist. It sounds crazy on paper, but the show becomes addictive after the first episode. It tackles topics of identity, sexuality, addiction, absent parents, sexual assault, female unity, social change, etc. You'll have a favorite character throughout watching the series and rooting for half the cast. The first two seasons are on Netflix, and season 3 is expected to come out next year.

8) The Crown (Netflix)

The historical bio-series about the Queen of England is so good. The drama isn't just in her reign in the monarchy but about the last fifty years of the monarchy and the royal family. You'll get educated while getting the tea about the scandals that's happened behind the scenes. The first three seasons are on Netflix, and season four is expected to come out at the end of 2020 (fingers crossed).

9) Elite (Netflix)

The Spanish teen drama is a combination of Gossip Girl with How To Get Away With Murder. Every season has a new mystery, and everyone has their secrets and lies they are hiding. You need to have snacks when watching this cause the suspense builds up till the end every season. All three seasons are streaming on Netflix, and season 4 comes out next year.

10) One Day At A Time (Netflix/PopTV)

The reboot of the original series follows a Cuban-American family in Los Angeles. It's a comedy that gets serious at the time, but it always comes back to the central theme, family. The first three seasons are on Netflix but was canceled last year after receiving critical acclaim. Thankfully PopTV was able to pick it up for the 4th season. You can watch the first six episodes o the PopTV channel, and hopefully, once COVID-19 passes, catch the second half of the season later this summer/fall.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
