Quarantine is not a fun time. It can be lonely, stressful, and overall boring. During these unprecedented times, I wanted to create a playlist of a few songs that have been getting me through recently. Hope you enjoy!

 1. "Young & Alive" by Bazzi

This song is the ultimate summer anthem. Bazzi has a way of creating upbeat music that just makes you want to go for a drive with the windows down. This song is no exception. The story being told throughout the song is cute. It is very reminiscent of the early 2000s where times just seemed to be simpler. He is very good at making you feel nostalgic and blissful.

 2. "Make You Mine" by PUBLIC

Although this song was made famous by TikTok, I've been listening to it for a while before that. This song is upbeat and flows. It is a love song, but it just has this overall it's a very catchy song that you can get up and dance to. Very lighthearted and easy to get lost in. Beware though, this song will definitely get stuck in your head!

 3. "Better" by Khalid

Happiness and Khalid go hand and hand. Khalid has such a graceful way of creating relaxing and airy music. This song in particular makes me feel calm. I focus on the lyrics "nothing feels better than this" and just have an overwhelming sense of contentment.

4. "Getting Better" by The Beatles

This song is just an all around classic. It starts off upbeat and leads into the chorus so flawlessly. This song is perfect for the current situation we are all in because it talks about how crappy things can be, but when you look at the bright side things, ya know, "get better."

5. "Who Do You Love" by Tufts Beezlebubs

An upbeat song with great harmony and an acapella detail, what more do you need? The production of this song is flawless and is all around a very layered song. The instrumental aspect, mixed with the harmonies of the background singers, give a quartet like sound that just mixes so well with the lead vocals.

 6. "Sunday Best" by Surfaces

Surfaces' lyrics in this song, along with many of their other songs, are very happy and positive. I don't think it is physically possible to listen to this song and not smile, or dance. This is the perfect song to dance around the house to when quarantine is getting the best of you.

All of these songs have unique features that make them very good songs to look to when you need a little extra sunshine in your life. I hope they will bring joy to your lives like they have mine. I hope you all be safe and stay healthy!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
